Welcome to the nostalgia journal.

Nostalgia is my debut album. I’ve been writing songs since I was around 4 years old. This album encompasses songs I wrote from the mere age of 14 to 18 years old. I think of it as my “vault tracks” from high school.

It features rule-breaking musical concepts like multiple genres in just one album… keeping incidental sounds that are usually edited out… one-take acapella tracks… I wanted to be courageous, creative, and original with this 9-song-collection.

The thematic element to the album’s production landscape, lyrical approach, as well as overall aesthetic are constant; I think of it as a sonic scrapbook.

Camila Cabello’s latest album Familia received a critique from Rolling Stone that could be misinterpreted, but I personally find it flattering: “the stylistic shifts can give the record a bit of a mod-podge feel, but the artist holds it together by keeping us engaged.”

Such sentiment encapsulates the emotion I wish to evoke from nostalgia’s listeners. Authenticity—a concept I wish to embody in this album—can sometimes be lost in production-saturated vocal and instrumental tracks... Hence, my organic and raw approach to nostalgia.
